Control Systems...

Post by davek0974 »

I am putting together details for a new table build and realised that my THC would likely not keep up with the higher speed, so I looked into changing to an ethernet system - the MP3500 from CandCNC.

I just found a thread on their forum however that (if i read it correctly) says that turning the torch off early to stop the end divots cannot be done on ethernet.

If this is so, are there any other options out there??

What are you guys running??

Does anyone else turn off early using sheetcam rules to stop divots???

I wanted to make this build as good as I possibly can this time so any tips ????

That problem is because of the timing / latency issues when using the external motion controller. The Candcnc parallel port versions don't have this issue but you don't get the fast THC.

One option you could look into is to use basic Mach3 and an external THC called Neuron http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index. ... ic=25990.0
but you'll have to check with the designer to see if it can definitely do what you need. There doesn't seem to be much feedback on this unit.
