Hello Everyone.
I have a question about how to solve what seems to me to be a consistent problem with missing the cuts coming out of a corner.
The plasma table I use is a Koike. The plasma itself is a Innerlogic SR100i with an Inova Height Control.
The problem occurs when the torch exists a corner,,,not every corner, it will raise up just enough to not cut the material. I never lose my cut in this situation it just does not cut all the way through.
I have made adjustments in the arc voltage to try to solve this problem with no big changes. Also tryed this with new consumables with the same problem.
I am cutting 24 Gage galvanized steel when this happens. Is there something in the gain control that would help fix the problem?
Thanks

Re: Missed Corner Cuts
Perhaps there is a setting in your software that disables THC on radiuses smaller than that specified.

Re: Missed Corner Cuts
The InnerLogic torch height control is tied in to the the cnc control (you did not mention which cnc control is on your machine). The cnc control is supposed to freeze the torch height during decelleration into a corner, and it should remain frozen until the machine achieves at least 80% of its programmed speeds when exiting a corner. This will be a parameter setting in the cnc control. depending on who produced the control (could be Burny, could be Hypertherm, could be Pro-Motion) will determine the best way to adjust this paramter. The tech support guys at Koike are very good, have uou tried contacting them with this issue?

Thank you for your replies. The CNC controller is a D9. I have done further work on the table including new consumables and the problem has vanished for now

Re: Missed Corner Cuts
You may increase the distance from corner parameter in the control. Does it dive before raising? Make sure that the material is not warping up and touching the torch. It may making ohmic contact between the torch and material. If so and ACA collision avoidance and CTP clear the plate is on it will raise up to avoid a crash. Make sure there is not slag built up on nozzle. You may try turning off ACA on thin material if the other doesn't help.
