This is a sign I made for a local dog grooming/boarding facility to hang inside behind the desk. It is 60X36 and each color is a different layer. The dogs are raised 1 in from the back layer and the text is cut out individually and glued to the back layer. The layers on the dogs are glued together as well. The entire sign is made out of 1/8 aluminum to keep it lighter and it is painted with rattle cans. I will let the glue dry tonight and spray a clear coat tomorrow. This is my first attempt at aluminum and tig welding. I welded 1/4 alu bolts to the back of the dogs to create the 3d look. I honestly couldn't tell you how many hours I have in this but it is a lot. Please price it at what it would take for you to make it like it is. Also price it as if it was made out of 14ga mild steel. The customer is a friend and I didn't give her a quote prior to making it. I told her that I would not "hurt her too bad" ! All of the material that I used came from the scrap yard at $1.00/pound so I don't have much in it except time but price it with new material prices. I ran a few numbers through the spreadsheet and came up with a tentative price of $1000 for mild steel and $1300 for aluminum. Thanks for the help!!!
