patina for aluminum

I am needing to achieve an industrial pewter/blue/reddish patina on aluminum. I can get this on steel, however, the sign I am making will be too heavy if I use mild steel so I am hoping to get something close on aluminum. any ideas?

Anodizing is all I can think of.
