I am about to pursue getting authorization to use University logos, South East Conference to start, and am wondering if anyone has the contact info so that I might speed up the process. I understand that some schools handle their own and some use a "broker" or "agency. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

It sure is for me. I make the Wyoming Bucking Horse at 11" (hat to hoof) and sell them for twenty bucks, powder coated.Redneck wrote:The question is, is it worth it?
They must have a licensed sticker on them, which the trademark folks supply. If I sell more than I estimate, the price goes up.
My limit is $1,500 for an annual renewal of $75.00. Then it goes to a percentage for anything over the original limit.

I'm thinking that a sticky thread for all of the various licensing groups might be a good resource to have on hand here.sodfarmer wrote:Learfieldlicensing handles licensing for alot of schools. Have your check book ready, its not cheap or easy. Here is a link:

Re: UNIVERSITY COPYRIGHTS INFO
If it wasn't worth it I wouldn't do it. It's taken a couple of years for it to finally pay for its self. I have licensing for Iowa & ISU, they require a basic yearly fee and 12% of all sales. I have to submit a report every quarter with the following info for everything I sell that belongs to them:
Item Price
Date sold
Who purchased
Where sold
Not real fun, but part of doing business. I understand that they are just trying to protect their brand. They also require a licensing sticker.

Some of the schools offer a CRAFT license at a reduced rate. The restriction is YOU must create the item yourself and SELL it locally at craft type shows. NO imported stuff and NO online sells.
Just a thought, (;-) TP
