This is the first test. the nice thing about this is that the socket can be QUICKLY installed onto the carriage using two rubber grommets that pinch the metal bracket to hold it in place. The 15mm Craftsman 6-point deep socket is the perfect size for the pens which come in 15 different colors and 4 different tip sizes.

With the permanently mounted L-bracket, you can calculate the offset of the pen tip to the router tip or plasma tip and set your design accordingly. This could actually route out a design, and then "pinstripe" it using two colors of pens and offsetting the paths by 1/8" to 1/4"

I love the quick mount. Wrap a grommet around a 15mm socket and drop it into a hole through a bracket. Then slip another grommet around the bottom of the socket and sandwich them together. Drop in the paint pen and zero out the Z-shift, and you're ready to draw!
