See attached . . . I did not create this. . . it was created by one of the members . .

http://www.plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=9565

I recently had my son over who is an EXCEL junkie . . .

I was thinking maybe it could be improved . . .You know, compiled, GUI interface, etc . . .

He informed me that it was very well thought out, bug free & for it's intended purpose it would be very hard to improve it beyond appearance.

As the original creator has stated, you need to adjust for area. . . material prices, the value you want to assign to your design services, etc. . .

So far it has proven to be a very good pricing method. :D

I've been using 15 cents per sq inch as a starting reference point for finished products. Bigger = less per sq in. Lots of cutting involved = more per sq inch. That is for 14ga. That's just me for right now though.

HERE we use a 3 artsy part estimating system.

Low density cutting
Med density cutting
High density cutting

First you have to determine what YOUR costs of operation really is. Here it is $100 per hour for cutting. Then you will know about what to quote based on a visual look at the part to determine type of cutting and then the size LxW x thickness of plate.

LD = simple cutout with just perimeter cutting to create the object.
MD = Simple cutout with minimum interior cutting
HD = Cutout with a LOT of interior details to cut.

That will get you into the ball park
