downloading dxf files

Post by bigd420 »

i think the title needs to be changed from DXF Art - DXF Clip Art File Sharing **REGISTER TO DOWNLOAD DXF FILES** to Register and contribute to download dxf files.
Also i would like to add that i think just because some people got mad we sould not have to pay to download the files. i thought this was a SHARING site. i mean i understand that you all do not want people mooching off ya'lls files and then not sharing back, but for example in my case, i do not have the knowledge to make the great files that are on this site. how ever i can take the file and nest it on my nesting program that i have and cut like that. i can honestly say that i have not taken anyones ideas or files and made any mpney off of them. i have how ever taken some and cut little things here and there to put in my mothers garden or on my childrens walls. thats what i thought this site was about but i guess i was wrong...and please if i'm wrong please say so

bigd420,

Look at it this way.....
This site actually drives most of us to be very creative more than anything.

You don't have to be the one that post's the best file, the most files or even the guy that has the most talent.
I have found so many people here who do the same thing I do.....(Plasma cutting).

I have posted files, shared files and for me the best thing is the knowledge base.
There are people here who actually have the same problems, issues and successes.

What about the people who are registered here and never post anything. Not a file, not any advise or anything?
They just use everything we all have worked for or shared or experienced.

Look at all the registered users on here and then look at how many times a file has been downloaded.
Then look at the handful of people here who communicate daily or weekly. It is a usually the same ones with the occasional new register.

15 people talk here on a regular basis and then you see 300 people have downloaded a single file.
Who are these people? I am sure they could offer something. Advice, experience, help.....

I would happily contribute funds to the admin to help keep things rolling, and I will do so.
I know a fair amount about web sites and I am familiar with this web site platform he is using.

Just the time he spends removing all the junk postings, dealing with copy protected images and keeping everything running, takes time.
I could see this taking a lot of my time if it was mine.

There are companies out there that will sell you a table and an art disc and then tell you to figure it out!
The amount of help one can get from this site is pretty darn good.

You could say it should be free but if some of us are going to get mad it the admin for running an ad for a little extra funds than a small fee is the way to go.

If you were one of the people who did design a lot of files and knew how many people were taking them without as much as a hello, you would understand.

I think you may be selling yourself short on what you have to offer us.
If you are running or working a plasma table then I am sure I could learn something from you that would help.

Just a year ago I thought I was alone in doing a lot of this. Then I found a bunch of cool people trying to do the same thing.

At first I thought could they be my competition? How close are they to me!
Then I realized if I was to keep thinking that way, I really would be alone in this.

Besides, anyone can have a cnc table and a plasma cutter, a lot of people do.
It's what you do with it that factors your success.

Another way to look at it also is........Some of the free files you find here are worth $20.00 alone.
I know many here who could sell them as packages for way more.

$20.00 to access the entire library is a good deal.

Hope to see some of your stuff here someday! :D

I agree with Elkriverfab(Shawn I do believe)..I don't think 20.00 is too much for the skills and answers and all of the cool
ideas and free files that others are willing to share....Man up and give the money or stop using the site...

I am one of those hobbist who did not do my research before jumping in and buying a CNC table. I thought, hey, I am creative, artsy, and have good marketing ideas. They made it look so easy to cut designs when I went to an open house that showcased a table in action. Let me tell you, I am not computer illiterate, but I am in over my head. Have had my machine for over a year and was about ready to junk it, until I found this site and all the advice, files, and encouragement I get here.

PlasmaJoe, Elkriver, and all you other TALENTED folks, I admire your ability to design such amazing art. Jason, your files are wonderful, and I will be purchasing the Christmas package soon. I will get there, I know I can, but for now please understand my design abilities are just not there yet. Wish I knew someone who teaches classes in this type design.

This site is priceless, Thank You.

I think $20 is extremely cheap to have access to this much of somebody else's work and talent.
I am just learning to use my Samson table, and if it wasn't for reading posts on this site from folks who
have already been there I probably would not ever figure it out. Thanks Admin for a great site,
and thank you to everyone else for sharing files and help to newcomers like myself.
It is very much appreciated.

Just a thought from a new guy on the site...Just from the short time I have been on this site, the information gained has been well worth 20.00 not to mention the files available for download. I do not even have my machine yet, will be here Thursday!! And am finding that some of the members are very helpful and in this day and time to find someone who will help ,pretty much a stranger, is a rarity. Thanks to those who have helped so far!!
