Re: Power max. 45 cut chart
You may need to look in the Powermax 65 Owners Manual and look at the pierce and cut height for the 45 Amp consumables because the 45 is designed for hand cutting. Don't get me wrong it will work for CNC cutting you just need to look in the 65 manual for that information.

Re: Power max. 45 cut chart
The Powermax 45 manual has all the info you need. The hand torch doesn't cut any differently than a machine torch--the only difference is you need to be using the shield made for mechanized use, not the one with standoffs made for dragging on the plate while hand cutting.
If you don't have the manual, it's available several places online...here's one. http://www.trucutcnc.com/downloads/PM45.pdf

Re: Power max. 45 cut chart
The Powermax 45 operators manual has many pages of mechanized cut charts. You can use either a hand torch, or the recommended machine torch. The torch shield is different for machine cutting.....and there is an available ohmic retaining cap if your machine uses ohmic plate sensing. Do not use the Powermax65 manual for cut specs for the Powermax45...they use different torches and have different specs.

Here is the link to download the online manual.
http://www.hypertherm.com/en-us/Product ... ax45.jsp#6
Cutting charts start on 3-9
Use Shielded Cut Charts if you use the Shielded Consumables. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) for machine cutting if using the hand held cutter on the machine.

See that is why we keep you around. I stand corrected.jimcolt wrote:The Powermax 45 operators manual has many pages of mechanized cut charts. Re: Power max. 45 cut chart
Actually....the 45 amp charts in the Powermax65 manual are pretty close to the Powermax45 specs.....except that the arc voltage and speeds are slightly different and the max thickness in the 65 book says 1/4". The Powermax45 has specs for piercing up to 1/2" and edge starting for much thicker at 45 amps.
