Opening dxf files in Coreldraw x3

Hi. I'm having intermitant problems opening dxf files from this site. I can always open them in Sheetcam.But some of them won't open in CD x3,the latest one being A Valentines Share.Any suggestions?

What happens when you open the file? Do you get an error, do you just not see anything?

X3 came out in 2006, and at the top of that DXF file you will see

AC1021

AC1021 means AutoCAD 2007/2008/2009

X3 probably doesn't recognize autocad versions after 2006

so, if you open the file in a text editor and change change AC1021 to AC1015

there is a good chance it will work, AC1015 is autocad 2000/ 2001/2002

there is usually no reason to save DXF files in those later versions, it's best to just save version 2000 (or earlier if splines are not desired)

All it says is there was a problem reading the file.
