I just got a Harbor Freight refrigeration type compressed air dryer for xmas. I was wondering if it's ok to hook the inlet and outlet pipes using regular type air hose and quick release fittings instead of black iron pipe. I only ask as I am not sure if the dry air comes from the unit hot and if this will affect the air hose so close to the outlet.
Thanks
Tony

Re: Refrigerator Type Air Dryer & Using Air Hose
I have the small Macair dryer, I used rubber flex hose on both the inlet and outlet sides. I was mainly concerned with vibration issues which I dont think there really are any, it is just a habit from being an electrician and doing that. I don't think there is any real heating issue. I did keep the hose and all fittings the same size as the pipe though so there would be no restrictions. Hope this helps.

Re: Refrigerator Type Air Dryer & Using Air Hose
I can't see the air coming out hot from a refrigerated air dryer. I would have guessed if anything the outlet air should be significantly colder than the air coming in.

Re: Refrigerator Type Air Dryer & Using Air Hose
Thanks a lot guys for the info. It is a great help and I am going to use the flexible hose to connect it up. I have never used or seen one in operation so your comments were a great help.
