Elipse changes to polygon - Help please
I just started having troubles with elipses drawn in CoreldrawX6. If I form an elipse and save it, then open it in the CAM program, it changes to a multi-sided polygon instead of a smooth elipse. I've done this numerous times before without problem - not sure what changed. I have attached a dxf file of what the elipse looks like once it has opened in the CAM program, saved and reopened in CorelDraw. Thanks.

Maybe post your original Coreldraw file so others can see if they experience the same issue.
You could post a cdr file and a pcx (I think that's the one) for those that have X5 & below.
This is the issue that the DXFTOOL is supposed to fix, but you say you've successfully done it plenty times before.
Also what is your cam program.
Keith.

Re: Elipse changes to polygon - Help please
OK here's just a simple ellipse. I have attached the original CDR file, a file saved as dfx in corel, and a file saved after taking it into my cad program (Bobcad). All looks good until it is opened in Bobcad. Once I open it in Bobcad, it becomes a multi-sided polygon. If I make no changes, save it as a dfx and reopen it in Corel, it shows up as a polygon in Corel. I am working around this by deleting the old ellipse in Bobcad and drawing a new ellipse in Bobcad. I know Bobcad isn't very popular but I've never had any issues with it. Like I said, I have done this numerous times before so I don't know what could have changed.

When you export as dxf in CorelDraw what version Autocad file are you exporting it as, I use 2008 and have never had a problem, other versions have done what yours is doing. BTW I have X5.

Re: Elipse changes to polygon - Help please
I am exporting as a 2008 AutoCAD dxf. What worked fine a few days ago, now is not. Just trying to figure out if some settings could have changed and if this is a Corel issue or a Bobcad issue.
