We have a Plasmacam model 510 at work that I've become proficient with. I want to build my own table with a water tray and some other features. I own a machine shop so this is no big deal. The thought of learning another software depresses me. Is it possible to run Plasmacam on a home built machine? Is there anywhere in Plasmacam to tune drives? I've retrofitted a cnc mill with mach3, so I familiar with the process.
thanks

Re: Plasmacam on a home built machine?
you cant get anything plasmacam unless you own plasma cam.
sheet cam and mach 3 are fairly easy to learn .
if you want to see how to work them here is a link to some training videos.
arclightcnc.com/training.html
there free you have nothing to loose. you may even like mach and sheet cam you have general knowledge of cnc I had none I had the basics in a day or two
hope this helps

I do 4 axis cnc milling in Mach3 now but create code in Gibbscam. I've played in inkscape a little. After watching the videos I may have changed my mind.
Thanks

Re: Plasmacam on a home built machine?
What are the chances of converting my dhc2 equipment and controller onto a 5x10 table i already have? I see where there is a place in the software settings where it ask what size table you have. Not sure if i would be willing to convert it but the idea has crossed my mind. The gear racks that are on the 5x10 table are the same pattern but sitting on top of the rail instead of inside.
