Process to clean up this mess.

I'm working on a bridge for a friend. I traced a bitmap image with CD X5. Of course it is very pixelated, as you can see in the attachment. How do smooth those lines? I guess I'm asking what steps would you take? I'm new to the software.

I think I got it, but can someone look at this and tell me if there are too many nodes? what corrections would you make, etc.

wow, now I see nothing welded... ok, next question, how do you fix something that did not weld.

I need all sorts of help.

OK, I believe I have had a breakthrough.

Please look at this latest file and let me know if I have done this correctly. I exported using dxftool, I think I used the tracing tool correctly and learned how to wield the knife.

looks good, I see 3 minor glitches

in this case, it might be more prudent to just draw the red objects, copy the blue ones

weld it all up and add a small fillet

it comes out a lot less distorted
