Problems With THC with fine cut consumables
I'm running a Powermax 85 through mach3. I haven't had any problems with the 65amp consumables with the torch height control on. I have been running my fine cuts with it off for about a year because with it on it just pierces starts to cut and stops. The fault icon on the machine tells me loss of air or gas I forget the code #. I followed the book for all my setting voltage ect.

Re: Problems With THC with fine cut consumables
Not knowing what your machine is or your settings are....I would guess that you have too long off a pierce delay. This causes the machine to stay in a fixed position at the beginning of the cut, and on thin material will blow a large hole in the material which will cause arc blowout, as there is no material under the torch. Decrease the pierce delay time so that the torch moves immediately after the pierce is complete.

Jim I believe I have the delay set at what the book specifies. I am cutting 14 ga. I will check the delay setting and try again thanks

If you tell me the fault code on the plasma....that will help solve the issue as well.
