Use the PM30 consumables for that.

As Jim has told me in the past. There is a .006 (appx) difference in kerf using the PM30 consumables

Just stay with the 45 consumables.

If you use the PM 30 consumables you will lose your omhic sensing and DHC.

Drakus,
Do you use shielded or unshielded on my 600 I used unshielded.
Thanks ,

James,

For the Powermax45 there are no "Fine Cut" consumables as we have with the older 600 style torch. There are the 30 amp consumables....the same ones we use in the Powermax30. These do the same thing as the FineCuts do, allow for slower cut speeds on thin material with a norrower kerf. If you look in your Powermax 45 operators manual under the mechanized cut charts there are a few pages devoted to these consumables...at the top of the page is a picture with part numbers and descriptions. I am attaching them here as well....copied from the operators manual, note that you do not need the optional deflector...that is normally used for hand cutting. These parts are unshielded. I suggest trying the thin materials with the shielded 45 amp consumables...it is a newer torch design with superior cut quality as compared to the older 600 that you had. I rarely use the 30 amp non shielded consumables on thin material....prefer the 45 amp shielded.

I use shielded only due to having the advanced DHC from plasmacam.
