How to keep inside of letters from falling out?

Can someone please explain to me how to make the inside of the "A" "O" "R" "D" from falling out when I cut this? Thanks in advance!

You bridge them. I do it with a rectangle - usually .125 to .250 wide and whatever length you need to close the gap. I then trim the unwanted parts of the rectangle away. And weld whats left of the rectangle to the letter. I dont suppose that was very clear.

Nice video, thanks for sharing....but this may be an easier way to do it.

Do exactly like you did at first, draw the rectangle and overlay it on top of the letter "O". then select the rectange, go to your flyout on the right and change it from "weld" to "Trim" with the pull down menu. make sure leave target and leave original are unchecked. then click the "trim" button, then select the letter "O" and your done. This automatically trims away the area and closes all the nodes.
