I'm waiting for parts to come in to assemble a plasma table, so while waiting thought I'd get to work on what I need for design software and setting up a workflow.
My first snag - Corel seems popular here so thought I would use that, but I'm all Mac, so I guess that's out. Life has been grand since switching to Mac years ago, so I won't even consider loading any version of Windows on my Mac. Would also prefer not to buy a Windows machine just to run Corel. Soooooo . . .
Any Mac users here who can tell me what works best for them for software and a good workflow? Would have loved some of the Corel X5 features, plus being able to use it to make my designs presentable to the real world and on a website. I'll be using Sheetcam and Mach3. Still new and don't know anything. Does Sheetcam go on my design computer or on the machine with Mach3?
I have Illustrator. Let's just say Adobe and I aren't on good terms - I'm old enough to have earned the right to be cantankerous, Adobe to me is a young punk.
Thanks,
Dan

MAC's are great machines, but they limit you to software availability. I don't use one but I am sure someone on here does.
I use Autocad exclusively because I am very familiar with it. Not sure if there is a Mac version available or not. Since Macs are used exclusively in the graphic design industry I am sure you will find some program that will equal the horsepower of Corel.

I use windows to run my machine, but in the house I have a Mac and use Draftsite for a lot of work and its free. However it is a drafting program and doesn't have a trace feature. I import an image and have to trace it by "hand".
