Plasma Power Supply Control Cable - Cutmaster

Post by suryak »

Recently I had to change my power source from Cutmaster 81 to Cutmaster A120.
While Doing so my engineer did some damage to the Plasma Power Supply Control Cable that goes from the Power Source to the Torch Height Controller (Part No. 9-8312) and i doubt he changed the connections of the wire with the connector. He reconnected the wire later. However after doing this following problems were observed:

1) While cutting 5 mm material I have to set a voltage of 70V (which earlier i used to set as 118V) to maintain the same height. I want to know whether there is any problem while cutting at such a low voltage.

2) I cannot go below 60V as the THC doesn't allow it. So cutting of lower thicknesses is very difficult as I have to set the voltage upto 60V.

3) Cutting with exposed tip is now not possible. After cutting 2-3 pieces of a job, the torch touches the job & machine gives error of "Torch Short". Cutting is possible with a shield cap.

A solution to these above problems would be really helpful.
