milky clear coat over Steel f/x rust...

Post by wishiwastorching »

I'm trying to figure out why my clear coat is drying to a milky clear instead of just clear. Im only noticing it on my signs Im using Steel f/x rust on. I love the rich leathery brown look you get with the fx Rust right after you spray it on, so I rince it with water, dry it and clear coat it but then my clear coat is milky. I dont think Im getting it with copper fx or other coatings but I dont see why I would be getting it with the rusr fx either. Maybe I mixed the Clear wrong? A hair to much hardner or maybe a hair to light? Anyone have experience with this issue? I love my fx rust and I love my DC3000 but I am not liking them together right now!!!

I don't know your full setup but blooming is a common problem if your metal temperature is too low, you apply too much too quick trapping solvent or there is moisture present.
