Need to convert GIF to DXF

Can anyone tell me the best way to convert some GIF files to DXF. I have the plasma cam design edge, but not sure if I import them that it will work. I'm not at home with the machine so it is hard to walk someone through it if I don't know what I am talking about. Or is there a free program or a reasonable one that will do it.
I have some really nice GIF that I want to buy, but not if I can't use them.

Hi Carol, You can open the GIF in windows PAINT and then save it as a PNG, BITMAP or JPEG. You can then import to Design edge. Hope that helps...................Russ K.

I really didn't want to buy another program. I have Toral Converter that will let me change it into JPEG and alot of other files but not DXF. You are a livesaver. I really needed the muttonbusting file he had for a Youth Rodeo.
