not sensing material -Powermax 100/Plasmacam

Post by justinash »

I just changed the setup on my powermax 1000 from 60 amp to fine cut. i think i have the proper comsumables {220327,120926,220329,220061}.My deflector is a120979 and my torch head keeps touching the material. Is this because I need a 220404 deflector? Thank you. :?: PS its attached to a plasmacam.

Is your ground hooked to the slats?

I'm assuming you mean the ohmic contact (for this you must have either a PlasmaCam DHC2 or Samson machine) is not functioning...

Here are the part numbers you need to use for that:

Deflector shield: 220404
Retaining Cap: 220061
Nozzle: 220329
Electrode: 120926
Swirl ring: 120925

You also are using the wrong swirl ring....the 220327 is only for hand cutting.....use the same swirl ring (120925) as you would use for the 40 and 60 amp processes.. The 404 shield extends beyond the nozzle allowing the ohmic contact to function properly.

Best regards, Jim Colt Hypertherm

hi jim ,i also have the ohmic sensor and was wondering if when i used 40 amp mechanized consumables my shield is 120930 instead of 220404 for the fine cut ,does this mean my ohmic is not working right properly on 40 amp shields or 60 amp and 80 amp shields also 120930 ,thanks

The 120930 is the correct shield for use with the 40, 60 and 80 amp shielded consumables (for Powermax1000, 1250 and 1650 systems with original torch)..it functions with ohmic height control applications as well.

The 220404 is only for FineCut.
