Hi all....I am the wife of the registered user here. The husband wanted me to check into some conversion software because I know a little bit about computers. I am not exactly sure what I should be looking for so I'll just list some issues we are having.
For one example, a local band sent us their logo in jpeg form and when we import in Plasma CAM it comes out all jagged looking. So husband redraws everything with a marker and paper & scans to PC, and it still comes out imperfect in Plasma CAM. VERY time consuming.
I am assuming there would be an easy fix for this?
Husband saw somewhere online, a video of a scanned photograph that was easily transformed into a DFX file. Of course this is very exciting but not a necessity at the moment. (if price is reasonable, it would be very cool though)
Really, we need something to eliminate the paper & sharpie markers. Need something simple to use because husband, God bless him, it not totally PC savvy. Also, something that won't break the bank. We are just starting out & funds are limited.
We are operating on Windows 7; the files are transferred via pen drive to the other PC that's connected to Plasma CAM. If I can answer any questions that may help to recommend something, I'll be happy to do so. And I do appreciate any feedback here because I have no idea what I am doing!

I would recommend CorelDRAW. It has a tracing function that is as good as any other out there and if that does not provide the kind of output you are looking for you can use the freehand bezier tool to freehand trace it which works really well all the time. Corel is also pretty affordable.
