Re: Settings: Hyportherm Powermax 45/PCM DHC2
Open up your Powermax45 operators manual to the mechanized cut charts. Use the 45 amp shielded consumables:
-Shield, 220673
-Retining cap (Ohmic), 220719
-Nozzle, 220671
- Swirl Ring, 220670
-Electrode, 220669
Use these mechanized parts in your torch even if you are using a hand torch. The consumables are available at any Hypertherm dealer. The dealers location can be found on the www.hypertherm.com website, click on "where to buy".
These cut specs are right out of your manual...and will produse the best quality cut on 20 ga steel:
Amperage: 45
Cut speed: 380 ipm (if you have detailed cutting.....reduce speed to around 220 ipm)
Cut height: .06"
Pierce height: .15"
Pierce delay: 0 seconds

Jim, I notice here that you suggest a reduction in cut speed to approx 60% for detailed cutting, jimcolt wrote:Open up your Powermax45 operators manual to the mechanized cut charts. Use the 45 amp shielded consumables:

would this ratio only be applicacable to this very light gauge material and high travel speed or would you use a similar ratio on say 10g or 1/4" ?
Thanks

Re: Settings: Hyportherm Powermax 45/PCM DHC2
I Am Discouraged! I cannot get the torch to my handheld torch to fire. (
Hypotherm Powermax 45/Plasmacam)
1st Time: I can only get the control box to jog carriage/gantry
2nd Time: Control Box only wanted to light up the x, y on Control Box. -Would not let me jog on c box, but I could move it around from Design Edge Software
ANYONE have any tips?? I'm STRESSED Out!
