If you are looking to find what you need to charge per hour see this download. It is an exe download but it is all MTI systems offers for a download. I have been looking at there Costing software and discovered this little gem. It is free to download.
As far as what i charge I use the xlsx file I downloaded from this site( I believe, but I cannot seam to find the link). It is called "CNC Plasma Price Work Sheet.xls". I does a fairly decent job if you have all current data on steel prices.
Good luck

I don't charge time for cutting. Square area of material used (if piece is a circle they buy the square size it took to cut it), cost per pierce, cost per inch to cut. Those costs depend on thickness of material. extra charges if its a heavy sheet to manuever around the shop (3/16" or more) or I have to index the sheet for big pieces. I charge for time for complicated design(not simple shapes), fabrication, welding, painting, etc.

Re: What people are Charging an hour to Cut??
I just ended up doing an hourly rate of 80.00 dollars. I firgured I could run 4 parts a min so I took 80/60=1.33/4=.3325
I came up with .33 a part plus .05 per pierce
Total per part .38 cents for a part that was about 3''x5x14g
I will have orders of 400 and 500 parts
Feed back on if this price is to high are low would be great thanks

If I cut a 3" x 5" rectangle out of 14ga, just a straight rectangle with nothing else cut in it it would be $2.80 for 1 or $2.00 each for 20 or more.GPWELDING wrote:I just ended up doing an hourly rate of 80.00 dollars. I firgured I could run 4 parts a min so I took 80/60=1.33/4=.3325

Re: What people are Charging an hour to Cut??
Ya after looking around more I was forsure a little to cheap. I figured out a work sheet that works alittle better and got me closer to the 2.00 a part...
Wondering what everyone is charging per cut inch and per pierce???
I have seen on this form some people charging
$ .33 per cut inch.
+ $ .15 per pierce point. Factors in consumable replacement cost.
+ $ 1.67 per minute of cutting based on $100.00 per hour for machine.
+ Material cost.
+ CAD, scanning, @ $55.00 per hour.
Seems alittle High but Would be helpful to know so I can get my foot in the door with some work..
