Hello everyone,
We are located in South San Francisco, California. We are trying to find someone who is looking for work and would be interested in joining our small company. We have a JD 5x10 plasma cutter machine that will used to mainly cut 24-26 gauge sheets of metal and needed someone in the area who would be able to help set up the machine and make sure it cuts needed fittings with quality cut and proper machine settings.
We are looking for someone to help come and set up the machine and make sure it cuts as it should with proper settings and adjustments. We can set up a contract for a small amount of your time if this is more your expertise.
However, we were looking for someone interested in joining the team and operating the machine as well as designing HVAC fittings in our ShopData CAM design software that will be cut on the machine in a more permanent position. Someone with experience troubleshooting these machines and knowing what to look for when errors appear during cuts. Someone with experience designing in CAM software can pick this one up and run with it. We are flexible with availability and would be willing to work with you if you have another job or things you need to attend to throughout the week. This would be a part-time position so if you have some free time this could be perfect for you. If this sounds great to you, we would love to talk more! Feel free to send me a message if interested or have questions about the position.
Requirements
- CAM design experience
- Plasma cutting table operator experience
- Troubleshooting
- Part-time availability
- Ability to speak Spanish (A Plus)

Hello!
This would be our first hire for someone in this field and going off the average pay in California being $25 feel comfortable offering $25/hour for the long term position since the individual would have experience. We would be willing to discuss further regarding that if you are interested in the position. Pay for coming in just for setup would have to be discussed based off your rates.

$25 an hour is the average for a experienced operator that can come in and be making parts quickly ?
Erie Pa is paying $25 an hour starting for simple rod burning welders, and our cost of living is much less.

But I have a Master Plumbing License...Journeyman Mechanical... my type 1, 2, and 3 608 license... Med gas license. Can 3d model, 2d model, run a cnc plasma table.. tig weld stainless... run 3d printers fdm or resin.. run a mandrel tubing bender and fabricate as well as your average fabricator or better. Very mechanically inclinded and a great mechanic/ I have the elusive skill called "troubleshooting".. where you understand how something works and cant diagnose the issue rather than throw parts at shit till it works...
And in california? Cost of living is nuts... i need 75-100k to considera job in wyoming... cali? 160-200k or ill pass. I gotta make up for cost of living.. plus the unpaid time for the commute.

With your vast experience and impressive resume - I would say you are probably over-qualified for the operator job posted here. Good luck with your job search.nsboost wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 2:02 amyeah i wont even roll over in bed for $25/hPlasmaDon wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 7:43 am $25 an hour is the average for a experienced operator that can come in and be making parts quickly ?
