Hello All!

Post by nelson.watford@yahoo.com »

I am a newbie to owning a plasma table. I purchased the Langmuir XR with Razorweld 45 cutter. Have owned for 3 years and finally made the first cut yesterday. Reason was nothing to do with the table. The first 18 months it sat in storage while I worked/moved. The last 18 months it has sat assembled in my garage storing junk awaiting me to wire and plumb it. Finally after a very long wait I was able to make this thing cut something. :HaHa I am here now, with time to learn and see what all this community has to share. I hope with time that I also can contribute to this community.

Welcome! Glad to hear you are finally able to set up your system and get something cut. No mention of any issues so it must have gone well :Like What do you have in mind for this machine? Metal art, mechanical parts?

Welcome aboard, let the fun begin, great tool to have in your shop. Many neat projects posted here have a good look around wit the search function in the upper right. Is this a DIY hobbyist or business type table?? With a few mod you can expand the use of the table for more projects, mine is multi-functional.

Welcome to the forum Nelson! Langmuir makes some quality stuff - so I think you made a wise decision with your purchase. What drawing program are you using (or learning to use) to create cut files for your table? I know that many of the Langmuir owners use Fusion 360 for everything - drawing, cut path creation, and g-code. Does the Langmuir table come with any sample cut-ready files for testing the table?

What sorts of projects do you have in mind for your table? I know that when I first got my table, I was mainly interested in cutting out brackets for some of my car projects. But I have also done some "artistic" pieces as gifts for friends and family members.

Good luck with your new adventure!
