I remember spending hours trying to get some pretty basic artsy stuff programmed and Fusion360 was really struggling with the sketches.
I really hated resorting to purchasing DXFs and seeing someone else selling basically the same item online was a mix of frustrating and embarrassing.
I've got my system down now. From the idea popping into my head to cut part was probably under two hours on this and the artwork is all mine.
I'll get it cleaned up tomorrow and I plan on shooting it with chrome powder coat followed by a blue/purple color change top coat.
Right now I'm just psyched with how well this turned out and how easy it's getting.

I've got this one I need to clean up and backlight before it'll really pop, but this was the pic I took in the rain outside of my garage when it finished. Stands about 36" wide, 32" tall. This one did take me a bit of time to design. :HaHa

I had some technical difficulties with this one though. My torch head started coming loose during the job and I didn't realize it, so I have some cuts that ran into other cuts from the torch wobbling, and my torch tip ate itself about 15 seconds into the final perimeter cut. I was lucky I was able to save it, I had briefly stepped out of the garage just a few minutes earlier.

First post here !
Looks good I had a VERY similar one my buddy wanted for his pitbull and it had too much detail. Would you share the file?
What are your tips on making these images now ? I’m still learning .
IMO this image is great but u should add a slight mouth line then it would be great!

Locust - I would be interested to see the image/photo you started with. I assume this was MidJourney AI generated using the same process you showed for the moose in forest piece. If you don't mind, perhaps you could walk us thru your process (step by step) using Midjourney to create the finished image file you imported to Inkscape for your autotrace/edit for the dog you show above. Maybe some screen shots of your work flow.

Thanks!

David
