Just curious ... Why build your own table? I know you probably CAN, but why reinvent the wheel? There are so many tables out there now, selling at really great prices, as people move to lasers. I suppose, if you are just doing it for the sense of self accomplishment, okay. I look at old cars all the time. There are many that need endless labor to restore them. Yes, some people really enjoy that, but I am already 66, and so I must face reality. I either buy a restored car, or I don't buy a car.

I hear what you’re saying Joe, I to am at an age where i just don't have certain things in me anymore. In the case of a table its a pretty clean job, not overly labor intensive (compared to car resto), lots of money to be saved, and you have knowledge of the entire machine if anything goes wrong.

Welcome aboard Bogey! Building your own table will be so much more instructive and fun than simply going the "store bought" route. Many here have successfully done the same with great success and satisfaction. There is a "diy" section of this forum with lots of great information and documented builds. Good Luck!!

Very much agreed! The knowledge gained and satisfaction will be well worth the effort. Anybody can just go out and buy a table - and perhaps for those not technically inclined that is a good approach. My first cnc table was diy home build and I learned a lot plus had loads of fun. I think Tom, Steve, and some of the others here will agree.

We are not in a cookie cuter world, the old different strokes for different folks is at play here. I'm 81 and I still love getting my hands into things. Being able to build things from scratch is fun and you get to share the fun with others on site like this. Helps keeping the old gray matter moving too.
Using the sweat equity has allowed me to buy other things, in place of plunking down a wad of cash of one thing. Not every body has your deep pockets Joe

I expect that you will receive a welcome email from Admin within 24 hours or so. That email should offer you options as to which set of complimentary files you want.
