Oxygen tank freezing
Hello, we run a Hypertherm 260xd with an Alltra bed and 60-gallon oxygen tank. We constantly have issues with the oxygen tank freezing up, anyone have suggestions on preventing this?

When cutting one inch material we always have issues with the regulator and tank freezing. We are at the point we leave a heat lamp over it.

Is it the tank freezing up or the regulator? If it is the regulator you may want to look into a higher flow capacity regulator. Flowing too much oxygen through too small of a regulator can cause it to freeze up.

They make a tank heating blanket for cold climates, the ones I've seen are pricey but so is waiting on the tank to unfreeze to resume cutting.

For those that use liquid form for cutting you need to integrate a vaporizer or you will always have freezing. There are some places in the USA that simply store outside but the atmosphere inside the tank will always raise in temperature and your blow off valve will activate more...even more as you use your bulk liquid and there is more room in the tank. Ask your provider for a vaporizer. They are relatively cheap ($2-7K)

Thanks for posting that information, you would think the gas supplier would tell the customers that.
