Hello,
Run a small welding business in the midwest and I'm in the process to replace our very old Burny 2.5 table to something of this century. We will miss the photo eye tracing capabilities as we primarily a job shop that fixes heavy equipment and does light to medium metal fabrication but this new table should greatly expand our capabilities and improve out efficiently.
New to CNC and buying a table soon.

Welcome aboard Fntugger! There are so many to choose from - have you narrowed it down to a few tables yet - or are you still in the initial search phase?

We have looked at Swift-cut, Koike, and Shop Saber. My local welding supplier handles the first two options but probably between Koike and Shop Saber at the moment. Also going to reach out to Star Lab.adbuch wrote: Wed Jul 17, 2024 5:59 pm Welcome aboard Fntugger! What is your deadline for buying a table? Also, are you dead set on buying a NEW table, or would one at a great low price be attractive to you?
Go to govdeals.com and bidspotter.com and search for "plasma" to see the tables you can buy from online auctions for PENNIES on the dollar.
Example: I just picked up a PlasmaCam DHC2 4x4 table in great shape, from an auction in Houston.
New price: $9.820.00 + tax + shipping. My winning bid ...
... $200.00
AND it came with two additional, brand new servo motors, one for the carriage and one for the gantry.
Current bid (07-18-24) on THIS table (link below) is only $5.00

They ARE out there!

Another good source for an assortment of good, used cnc plasma and oxy/acetylene tables is proxibid.com

Unless you KNOW exactly what you are getting buying used or (especially) an auction is risky. Joe knows PCAM tables like his own belly button . Used stuff can be missing hardware or software or just a critical cable . It can be old versions and you can forget ANY help from a vendor. If its commercial uptime is important . Support is important. Repair parts and manuals are important.
Lifetime support is the "lifetime" of the vendor not you!
There are going to be a LOT of used machines on the market. Lots are wearing out and they have no support , no spare parts and nobody to call. Retrofitting an old commercial table from the late 90's early 2000's is an option with new controls and modern software BUT is not something to undertake if you need production right away There is a dizzying array of tables and technologies these days . ..

I have my eye on another DHC2 table currently available on the East coast.
