I was searching for cutting amperages for a Miller Spectrum 2050 and came across a post by Jim Colt.
In the post below Jim Colt suggested to use a machine tip to hand cut with over a drag tip on a Miller Spectrum 2050:

What is the reasoning for using the machine shield instead of the drag shield for hand cutting?
Thanks You for your help. I tried to message Jim but I know he has retired and I am not sure how often he gets on the forums any more.

Hey Steve
Because the 2025 is being used on a cnc table I believe Jim Colt is suggesting to use the machine shield despite the fact that you are using a hand torch on the cnc machine.
