I will stay tuned to find out more as you progress with your project. I have the PC tube cutter, but it is only for round tube.

Unless you need to cut multi shaped tubes now it may be simpler to make the round face plate for each size. Later you can develop or find an adjustable one to copy.

Im using an aluminum lazy susan to mount faceplates to the main frame. Should be able to swap plates easy enough and won't have to change the main body design as I upgrade followers.

Burned out a test adjustable follower. Think I'm close, a few tweaks in cad and it should work well.

You may be able to change that to a rectangle shape by moving the opposing side guides farther out. that may require a larger diameter base plate.

Went ahead and cut the spitfire up and turned it into a dedicated pipe cutter. Need to make a few adjustments in cam and a gantry mounted follower but I think it's going to work well.

Does anyone have recommendations for pipe cope/notch CAD or dxf generators? I found this one https://cq.cx/tubejoin.pl but I'm looking for something that doesn't need an internet connection to use.

Thanks for the links David.

Tom I'm using the sheetcam post processor that came with the Lonestar plasma table for the rotary attachment. It doesn't use sheetcams rotary plugin but can only be used for pipe. Just have to be mindful when orientating a drawing..

I'll have to use the rotary plugin when I get set up to cut square and rectangle stock for z moves.

I will look forward to seeing your progress once you have the rotary plugin set up and are cutting the square pipe.
