Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
Hello
I have a 3D printer for a week. The results need to get even better. One of the first projects is a nozzle shelf.
Printed with an Anycubic I3 Mega.
Are two parts to glue together or standallone.
If someone can use the stl PN with email address to me.
Best wishes Peter

Re: Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
Awesome work. I bought a 3d printer as well. I always though that they were a bit of a gimmick and not that useful. But they are really useful in protoryping things. I printed up a gearbox mount for my new table build to make sure things were going to work.

Another tool with a purpose, I have made many useful things with a 3-D printer some simple and other more involved like the scribe mount and drag knife holder.

Heres a sneak preview. Full 3d CAD model this time around. Full CNC machined mechanical parts and some really decent motors.

Also, apologies for the thread hijack.
Would you mind if i did up my own version of your idea? I have a HT PM 45 so the consumables are different, and a little sinpler in amparage range.

So what 3D printers are you guys running? Price range for printer and various consumables?
What software is needed or does it come with the printer?

Re: Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
What I have is a Tevo Tarantula, I have modified it by printing replacement parts that are better the original (posted on Thingiverse). I have a dual Z lead screw, and use glass platform and elmers glue to print on. I use TurboCad for 2D drawings and 123d Design to create the STL files, and IdeaMaker as the Slicing software. This printer uses 1.75 MM filament and I use PLA for printing. Original cost of the printer was $200. both the 123D Design and IdeaMaker are free packages and there are free CAD package out there. The printer uses Marlin software and can be edited with Notepad ++. I use my PC for drawing and getting the G-code setup and have WIFI with a Raspberry Pi and a Pi camera on the printer for communications with the printer. The WIFI allows 2 way communications so I can see actual printing on the fly from the camera, and see a display of the print motion, and G-code action. The orange parts are most of the replacement parts.

Re: Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
Hello
Printed with an Anycubic I3 Mega cost with 2 rolls Filament 250 € Dezember 2018.
Is ready to print in 20 minutes and prints well out of the Box, the Ultrabase printplatform is very good.
I have to retrofit light and a upcam HDPro camera.
The printer is in the basement and I do not need to look down.
In the programs I'm still testing. I have not found what I like yet.
-for 2D VCarve Pro I love it
-Slicer Cura and Slic3R Prusa Edition
-Autocad....123D Design....SketchUp.....TinkerCad ???

Re: Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
Handy accessory for a table!!!
So I’ve been reading through this thread and have read a some about 3D printers but not in detail. A crazy idea popped up. Has anyone tried making a 3D head for a plasma table? Just need the print head mount, reel feeder and driver along with a bed. I suspect the big question is whether you could tie the slicer software into the machine software like sheetcam and get them to work together. Or would it need unique software to make it work? Wouldn’t have to rent a printer then.
PS. Could make some really big parts! LOL

Re: Hypertherm Nozzle Shelf 3D Printer
Attaching a 3-D print head to a standard table would need another axis for the extruder (filament feeder) and a heated bed for the things to be laid on. there are cheap controller based on a mini computer, the driver outputs could be sent to the larger drivers that are used on the table for X, Y, and Z and the extruder and bed could be hook to that controller in a normal configuration. the table would need to be very tight and precise as the layers are about .2 MM many run on GRBL software and you use a slicer program in place of SheetCam to generate the G-code.

Super cool. Would love to get one of those one day. Cost isn't the issue with them anymore as they are very affordable in hobby format, it's more the time to learn and use it.
