I had a fun time drilling the 1 9/16 holes in the parts that got splashed. I thought I would pass this warning to anyone who might be using their water table on hardenable steels. Just something I didn't think about until it was too late. I ended up with the water about three inches below my material. It still cut down on the smoke a lot.
Not keeping the plate cool, would that not anneal the whole piece ?
