Micro edge pro controller compatibility w/ powermax 65

Post by kn612 »

Is anyone running air plasma cutters on a hypertherm microedge controller?

I drug home a table that runs microedge pro and phoenix software. Don't have 3 phase down here to run the hpr260xd it came with. Want to run a powermax 65 on it. Surely someone has a similar setup.

Nice setup to bring home! Wish I had some experience to share with you but I don't, however I don't expect it would be too difficult to get it going with any air plasma. Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

Update. Call to hypertherm tech and they had manuals I could download. It was easy.

Perfect! I figured it wouldn't be to tough. So have you had the chance to run it yet?

No not yet. Struggling to figure out where/how to interface the powermax with the microedge on wiring the cpc port. Really don't want to send any voltage where it doesn't need to go.

Initial height sensing has me stumped too. The original ohmic signals came from the hpr260xd's voltage divider card. Not sure if ohmic is even an option with a powermax combined with microedge pro. Probably could make a relay setup.

You could also buy a 3 phase converter an run the original setup for under a thousand dollars.

Solved- to use a powermax (or really any air plasma unit) with hypertherm's microedge pro controller/phoenix software you use hypertherms hpr voltage divider card (vdc3) instead of the powermax's divided voltage at the cpc port.
