Re: Dremel engraver
Also interested in keeping up with this as I was about to do the same with an old Dremel Roto-Zip.

Re: Dremel engraver
I have mounted a normal router on my table and it is a great addition. I would suggest using a trim router in place of a Dremel, the shape would make it easier to mount and it would have more power. Plus it uses a 1/4" bit which are available with sharp tips.

Re: Dremel engraver
The trim router is THE way to go for sure! I was considering the dremel (roto zip, not a standard dremel) only because I have one alreadyacourtjester wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:32 pm I have mounted a normal router on my table and it is a great addition. It's very similar to a trim router and can use .250 bits. I tried to get the harbor freight one but every HF near me was out of the 'good' model as they were on clearance. I suspect they are coming out with a new model soon, that's what they normally do once they clearance out something.

Re: Dremel engraver
My table is set up for a router as well (Makita Rt0701C) I'm wanting to use it in rotary action on metal, letters, logos, numbers etc etc.. Does any know what bits I should be looking at or where to get them? !/4 shank, just the bits no housing. I have never tried as I'm new so any additional info would be much appreciated

Re: Dremel engraver
Very informative for aluminum, but for steel I'm looking to do rotary scribing type work. or should I just be using drag bits? Sorry if I misguided but still very informative. thanks for the vid acourtjester.
