My Nesting Program

Post by tnbndr »

So I was messing around with a Brontosaurus file that I purchased years ago and was trying to manually nest the pieces to fit into a 4x8 sheet of steel. I could get close but couldn't get them all to fit.
I downloaded and installed My Nesting program and while installing it a window popped up that said there was free nesting available with their online nesting that they were developing. So I thought I would give it a try. In a matter of 10 minutes (more me) it nested all of the pieces in my desired 4x8 sheet. You are able to put in spacing around sheet edge and between pieces parameters.
I know there is a charge per nest using the desktop software and online when it is finally developed but it worked pretty slick and fast.

This is the nest it created:

I use vectric aspire for nesting. Cut2d Pro and cut3dPro also has the nesting

Quick an easy to nest
I also have Fastcam and Pronest

Both are super slow nesting in comparison to Aspire
Pronest reports are nice but not really needed
Fastcam has an old clunky interface which makes it a lot harder to use

I also use Aspire to clean up DXF files.
It will join vectors and cleanup nodes in seconds

Thats pretty slick. Good nesting software can be costly. Curious what they are going to charge.

Only $7.50 per nest, use it when you need it. For me that is a deal.
