How to plasma cut single lines
Hi, a quick question, how do you cut single lines from dxf/svg files. As when ive tried before, it says the gaps are too small for lead in.
Pic for example.

If it says that , they are . Shorten your lead in in sheetcam . Better put the individual line on a layer , and custom tune that layer

Select no lead in/out at all and no offset in sheetcam operations.

Re: How to cut single lines
One thing with cutting single lines is to find the pierce height and delay to remove the divots at the start. You can also use path rules to turn off the plasma before the end to remove the divot at the end.

Set your lead-in length to zero and select "cut on path" as opposed to cut to right or left of path.beeson1987 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:19 am Hi, a quick question, how do you cut single lines from dxf/svg files. As when ive tried before, it says the gaps are too small for lead in.

I can't telll from the photo if those are "lead-ins" or just pierce points. It will be hard to get rid of the pierce points, regardless of the location. You could try reducing the pierce delay time to the minimum required to actually pierce, and be sure to use FineCut consumables for the narrowest kerf width and most likely smaller pierce point.beeson1987 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 8:46 am Yes prefferably, would just like the lines with no lead in. , this pics just one i found on google.

Re: How to plasma cut single lines
I call it a running start and just turn the pierce time to zero and have the torch move while its piercing.
Sometimes you can put in two lines and have the machine move slower for the first line and then move faster for the second line (but the two lines are really just partial lengths of the one same line).
No divot then, but you have to fiddle with the start to see where it will perf.
