New user from Colorado
Hi everyone. I am new in this world. Bought a Langmuir table just about a year ago. I don’t usually ask questions as I find that everything I need to know someone else has already asked and answered……….therefore, I do a lot of reading of previous posts. I am fully functional at this point with Ai and fusion 360 as my software tools. My hope is to become good enough to take this on as a new career once I retire in 7 years. Right now the biggest thing I have to figure out is how to advertise in the future. I don’t do (until now) Etsy, fb, or any other social media. I guess that may have to change as I begin to engage in this industry. I absolutely love working in the shop and look forward to getting to know you all better.

Welcome aboard Lance! What sorts of items do you plan to sell? I hear great things about the Langmuir tables, what cutter are you using with it? It sounds like you've got a great combination there for your software - Ai for the artsy stuff, and Fusion 360 for the more mechanical parts. Please be sure to post some photos of your setup and some of your recent projects.
Thanks,
David

Thank you for the reply adbuch! I don’t really have a plan at this moment for what to sell. I love the creativity that the table gives me. (Razor weld 45) What got me thinking about this journey was a metal shop that I buy tubing from for race car parts told me that at least 2x per month they have people coming in asking for art. They do industrial fab but told me to make something and bring in some business cards and they would send customers my way! I finally came up with something for them tonight. I would love to post a pic once I figure out how. Today I also mastered the art of powder coating, something I have wanted to do! Let me see if I can figure out how to post pics.

Lance- that is a great looking piece!! I think you are well on your way. That might be a good display piece for the store. Maybe add a little holder for your business cards right to the piece, with some of your smaller samples hanging on the hooks as you have shown.

Great looking piece Lance! Looks like your off to a great start. Being able to powdercoat my own stuff has been awesome for me. Once you get started you will rarely pick up a rattle can ever again. Hope to see some more of your work.

Nice work Lance, from the above posted project you may look at craft shows for another outlook for sales. Layered look has always looked good but with the extended look of yours I make it POP. Would like to see it color finished.

Thank you for the kind words. I thought about putting a finish on it but for the metal shop it will be going into I did not want to hide the fabrication. The standoffs I used were scrap pieces from a test cut on 1/4 "
