How to get a good slag free finish
So I have a hypertherm 65 cynic and I’m having a hard time with a lot of slag while cutting 12 ga. Has anyone had this issue and if so can y’all help. Thanks

Re: How to get a good finish
Except for fouling the cartridge and problems with thc, I have heard good things about the cut quality. I expect your cut speed may be off. Are you using the book settings? Perhaps you are cutting too slow. Also check your cut height.

I am with David. Refer to the book for good starting point settings for your material type and nozzle selection. What nozzle and amperage are you using?
Be sure to physically measure the cut height with feeler gauges to be sure it is accurate to what you expected it to be when you set it and adjust if necessary.
If your still seeing a lot of dross you can try increasing your cut speed until it goes away. You can still expect heavier dross on sharp corners, smaller interior cuts, and other areas where your software is slowing the torch down.
Let us know what you find.
