I have a customer that sent me this sign and wants this finish duplicated on a sign for their business. I've done rust finishes, etc but this really isn't as much rust as it is different levels of deterioration. Or so it seems to me anyway. Has anyone done this finish or have any ideas on how they would achieve it?
I'm leaning toward Hot Rolled and splashing with Muriatic acid randomly maybe some vinegar in the mix to try to achieve the different tones and textures.
Any ideas welcome.

Well, I played around a lot. Customer was very pleased with the final result so I'll call it a success.
Ended up using hydrogen peroxide, Steel FX Black, Steel FX Bronze, muriatic acid. Sprayed together and individually until color achieved.
