Re: Blacksmith hook blanks
I could certainly explain how to do it, or refer you to other posts I have made on this forum showing step-by-step procedure.
But - the first thing you need is a much higher resolution image. Where did you get this photo?

Yes, check Davids posts, he has some great info on tracing that has helped me out. Thanks David!
For this job however tracing isn't even required, these are just simple individual designs on top of a stake. Just draw a stake and add your design on top. I use Corel and I can "weld" any design onto any other design such as a stake very easily.
What software are you using?

Re: Blacksmith hook blanks
On thing you could do here is to use Paint.net to increase resolution, and then Inkscape to manually trace. Depending on how good your eyesight is, you may be able to achieve acceptable results for some of these.

Re: Blacksmith hook blanks
Another option would be to do as was suggested previously and find some similar free clip art to trace and add a stake to.
I found one I liked and used the Inkscape "Path, Trace Bitmap" tool to trace the tree. Then manually draw the stake portion and join them together.
