hi there i have an image and im wondering what would be the best method of getting a useable file to cut on the plasma, i know im not going to get all the details in the image but id like to get as much as possible.

Chris - this is how I would do it using a combination of Paint.net and Inkscape. Let me know if you have specific questions about my process.
You can adjust your "Brightness/Contrast" settings to keep the detail you want before saving, or else edit the file later to add any details you want
from the original. The long method would be to do a manual trace, but I assumed you were asking about auto trace.

Here is another option. I used Vector Q (free app for Ipad) to do the auto trace and save as svg.
