Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
I have had this happen to me. I had a cool project I was working on and it would not even open. Try "Open Recent" and see what happens.

Yes. I have had to re-draw a couple of times. Painful.

Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
To be sure you can open and modify save the drawing with Inkscape SVG, sometimes you need to hit the Minus key to enlarge the viewing field to find it. Saving in DFX sometimes does not work if you want to recall the drawing??????

Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
Click on "Full Editor & Preview" the screen will show a tab "Attachments" click on that then. Add files you move to the location of the file or image you want to attach double click on it. If the file is the right size or type it will upload it. You then have it at the start of a new line, then click on "Place inline" for each image or file and they will be attached to the post.
Have fun

Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
I used the Path, Break Apart tool. I first switched the Display Mode from Normal to Outline to make it easier to see while editing.
Then just select each group as desired and move to new locations.

Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
Ok did that and made the changes moved the parts back and went to path, union and lost the text and the go-kart so I'm guessing that's not the way to reassemble it.I do really appreciate the help

Re: Reopen inkscape saved file
I don't think you want to use the Union tool. I would recommend using the Combine tool for your reassembly.Patriot Steel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 2:12 pm Ok did that and made the changes moved the parts back and went to path, union and lost the text and the go-kart so I'm guessing that's not the way to reassemble it.I do really appreciate the help

Here is what the Union tool does - an example with two rectangles.

Dean - we are happy to help! Glad to hear you are making progress on your sign. Be sure to show us what you have come up with once you finished it, and perhaps a photo or two of the finished sign.Patriot Steel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:06 am That worked.
