I am building a new business which includes getting a CNC table as well as many other workshop items.
The tables here in Australia are the cost of my whole budget or more so I am looking at Chinese options. I have been chatting with a company on Alibaba and I mentioned the Hypertherm brand. They came back with quotes including a Hypertherm which they state is Chinese?? Is this true I thought it was a US company?.
Would anybody have any good experience dealing with Any Chinese companies? Any hints etc.
Any help is really appreciated.
Ash

What is your total budget for your table plus plasma cutter?

you may end up with a famous Chinese brand of plasma cutter..... all support goes once you hand over your cash..... and once you take delivery of the box and sign for it you take ownership of its contents..... before you've opened the box to see what you have ended up with.....
sure I buy bits from China, but there is no way I would buy a whole setup.
I would suggest striking up a conversation on the linuxcnc forum as there are a few local users that will probably give you local suppliers in Australia and you may even get a proper machine built for way less than you think, that is supported, does have regular software updates and can be fixed or changed

Feel free to PM me. I am in Brisbane. If nearby, I accept covid free visitors.
The problem with most of the Chinese tables is that they use a geared motor on the Z axis so they do not have the ability to accurately set the torch height as you would with a normal stepper or servo motor. If you know exactly what voltage the torch should use, it probably can track the voltage pretty well as it should converge on it pretty quickly. But if you are like me and auto sample the voltage because it changes through the life of the consumables, you are out of luck.
Work with me and we could put a package together for you that will kick ass using Linuxcnc that will leave the Chinese and a lot of others for dead!
