DXF files can be in several different versions, normally they have a year in the name. They are not exactly the same, moving through different equipment like the Iphone may use a different version.

Re: Dxf file is very small
It could just be that the design you downloaded was drawn in metric and you are opening it in imperial. For example your software is expecting 1 unit to be 1inch but it is actually 1mm so your design ends up being very small.

Re: Dxf file is very small
Mine usually goes the other way since I exclusively use imperial US. But if it was drawn in metric and opened in imperial, (which is what usually happens in my case) it opens WAY too big,
But if it were drawn in imperial and opened in metric it is super small. I think that this might be your problem but I am not for sure on it..
Some guys us the formula and scale to .03937 if its too big. you can use a different formula to go the other way too (imperial to metric).
Are you opening it in metric

I agree - if imported in the wrong units it can come in either way too large or way to small. Either scale up by x25.4 or scale down by 1/25.4.
This same thing happens to me from time to time.
