Looks like bad nozzle, wrong cut height or too fast of feed rate. More details would be helpful. What cutter and what settings.

Indeed looks like a bad nozzle or incorrect cut height, you can see it didn't even cut in the areas where the XY motion slowed down for the detail, it just heated the material more. Definitely more details would help as mentioned above.

Looks like torch height is too high, your plasma is set too low of voltage, or your cut speed is 50-60% too fast what did you set your speed to? what plasma are you using? what voltage is it set to?

Hey all, appreciate the responses even if I am months long in replying. It turns out my feed rate (default set based on gauge) was too fast. Got it slowed down and now it is cutting much better.

Will do. Gotta work on picture uploading but have cut a few plates including some simple stuff my 12 year old drew. Worked through a bunch of issues over the past few weeks and finally getting work done. Amazing what having a few hours of dedicated time will do.

Re: Cut quality - what are we doing wrong?
Afternoon - Here are some of the pictures of the cut quality improvement. I was able to run the rest of a skeleton and then an entire sheet without any issues. We've been making small art and custom stuff for customers this year. Not making any money really but starting to pay down on what the machine cost at least. I should note that the DU was an earlier cut and first experiment powder coating. Cost of powder coating went through the roof so decided to learn how to do it ourselves.
The pumpkin was drawn by my 12-year-old free hand in corel. She actually did everything (with me hovering providing directions) and cut that herself.

Looks like you have a budding artist in your household. Tell her the pumpkin looks awesome. Much better than anything I could draw.

Powder coating is not black magic, building a DIY oven and a starter gun will get you going. Easy to deal with small objects.
Here is a posting on another site showing the Powder Coating oven I made and using it on a project I build.
