Hypertherm 900 rerofit torch

I have a hypertherm 900 and I was wondering is it worth buying a rerotit torch for it?I am the original owner of it.I haven't used it much.I have installed it on my crossfire pro plasma table.

I think it would be well worth the cost to upgrade to the Duramax torch. This will allow you to use the most current Hypertherm consumables plus the ability to use the Hypertherm FineCuts as well. As you probably know, the benefits of the FineCut consumables include narrow kerf, better cuts on fine details, and less heat/warping of the material you are cutting. FineCuts are great for 10 ga. and thinner material.

I suppose it depends. Your 900 is old but you will get improved cut quality and consumable life however the cost of the torch upgrade is not small (for me anyway) so if the work you are doing with your table is getting done sufficiently with your current torch then stick with it. If you have some cash to spend on improvements and would like to improve your cuts than it's a worthwhile upgrade.

I am very happy with retrofit torch, here is a picture of a dragon that I cut out at 190 in 45amp,out 14 ga.

Randy - that is a great looking piece! Thanks for sharing. Did you use the FineCut consumables for this piece? And - what sort of difference in cut quality are you seeing with this new Duramax torch compared to your original torch?
