Hi there I recently picked up my 4x4 Cutting Edge Plasma table and went to make my first cuts and I keep getting one of 2 errors. The first times I went to cut it would fire and cut for a second or two then arc would shut off and Myplasm would throw a “arc ok error” the other code I got was a “plasma interface error” which after updating to the most recent Myplasm software and restarting/ unplugging and re plugging in everything disappeared. However I still get the “arc ok error”. I’m running a Hypertherm 45xp that I bought without the CPC port and installed the factory hypertherm one. I’m using the Hand torch that I moved the purple wire from the 6 pin to the 8 pin and zip tied the trigger. It’s a cutting edge plasma table like I mentioned before using Myplasm Software.
I didn’t receive any starter or set up manuals to refer to with the table, that’s why I’m coming here. I’m
Just looking for some general areas to look at to start trouble shooting.
Thanks

Re: MyPlasm errors
Welcome aboard, I am not familiar with MyPlasm software but will say this. If you completely unable to get a Arc OK it could be a wiring error, or a failure of a component. If it is intermittently happening it could be a bad connection in that circuit. Some software have places you can look for signals for testing purposes and the Arc OK is a closed switch type signal so you could try shorting the connection to the controller from the Hypertherm manually. (pins 12 to 14 )

Ah yes, always going to be few things when your first getting started but it sounds like your not doing too badly. As acourtjester mentioned you should look into your ARC OK system, pin 12 and 14 at the Hypertherm CPC port. Are those wires connected to your controller where they should be? If so do as acourtjester suggested and disconnect the 2 wires from Hypertherm pins 12 and 14 and short them together and so your manually making the connection and see if you still get the arc ok error and go from there.

Re: MyPlasm errors
You can simply switch off the signal in the control. In the system, the voltage ok does not come from the Hypertherm device but is generated separately.

Re: MyPlasm errors
Thanks for all the replies...unfortunately now I am getting a “plasma interface error” code and I can’t even move the torch with the arrow keys on my keyboard. I’ve checked all connections and terminals and can’t find anything loose. And The blue light is flashing on the interface box.

Re: MyPlasm errors
The first thing I would check is the air pressure at the air inlet to the plasma cutter. It is best to have an inline pressure gauge installed right at the gas port (entrance) to the 45xp, and you should have about 100 psi reading on the gauge with air flowing thru the torch. Low air pressure, or running out or air - will cause the 45xp to stop cutting. If this is the case, you would also see a low pressure warning on the front panel of the machine. If you are using brand new FineCut consumables make sure to set your cut height to 0.080" for the first hundred or so cuts, and then set it back to the normal 0.060" cut height. Too low a cut height with brand new FineCuts can cause some of the problems you are seeing. Also make sure you have the CPC port voltage divider set to the correct ratio for the controller/software you are using. It would also be a good idea to temporarily reconnect your purple trigger wire and try some hand cutting to make sure that the problem is not with your 45xp.SLH wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:42 am The first times I went to cut it would fire and cut for a second or two then arc would shut off and Myplasm would throw a “arc ok error” the other code I got was a “plasma interface error” which after updating to the most recent Myplasm software and restarting/ unplugging and re plugging in everything disappeared.
